Resort Style Pools Signs As Principal Sponsor

The Werribee Football Club is thrilled to welcome Resort Style Pools, Hoppers Crossing (formerly Aarons Outdoor and Conquest Pools) as a sponsor for 2021.

Only a recent addition to Wyndham having opened their superstore in Old Geelong Road late last year, Resort Style Pools have jumped straight in, signing as a Principal Sponsor.

Werribee CEO Mark Penaluna said it was fantastic to see another new company join the WFC family.

“We’re very pleased to have Resort Style Pools come on board and provide a significant contribution to the Werribee Football Club in their first year as a sponsor,” he said.

“Their commitment to Australian made products and offering exceptional service is what stands out amongst the crowd, and we look forward to supporting one another this year and into the future.”

Resort Style Pools director Mark Zimmer said the decision to sponsor the Big W was an easy one.

“My business partner (George McBride) and I have always been footy fans and with our new Hoppers Crossing store opening up not far from the Werribee Football Club we thought it would be a good idea to get involved,” he said.

“I have always had some small connection with WFC dating way back to 1992 when my good friend Jason Watts played at the club, and it’s great to now be sponsoring the club.”

Resort Style Pools is a one stop shop for all backyard living and outdoor entertainment areas providing everything from fibre glass pools and spas to home studios, decks, cubby houses and sheds as well as Bali Huts, African Thatches and more.

They have all their products on display at their superstore locations and can look after every aspect from permits to building and installation along with landscaping your garden.

Located: 427 Old Geelong Rd, Hoppers Crossing
Open: Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm

Footy Is Back - We Play GWS On Sunday

After a 3-week hiatus VFL footy has been given the green light to return in Metropolitan Melbourne.  We will resume the season with a clash against an in-form GWS Giants at Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday.

Unfortunately, we are unable to welcome back spectators with all games in Metropolitan Melbourne to be limited to the minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the match.

The AFL will continue to work with the Victorian State Government and Health Officials on the return of crowds and we all hope this isn't too far away.

However, our round 10 match will be streamed live and free on Kayo and we hope many of you will be able to tune in and cheer on the Big W from home.

We'd like to thank all our loyal fans and sponsors for their ongoing support and hope to see you all back at the footy again very soon.

Keep an eye on our social media and the website for details on how to stream Saturday's game.

Go Werribee.

Another Week Off But Training To Resume

Our home game against Geelong will not take place after the Victorian State Government today announced that outdoor physical recreation and sport competitions will remain closed across Metropolitan Melbourne.

As a result, there will be no VFL and VFLW matches involving Victorian clubs for a third straight week.

However, we have received some positive news with the AFL today advising that training can recommence for all clubs in Victoria from Friday June 11 ahead of an anticipated return to matches.

The fixture for the VFL will continue to be a week-by-week proposition for the short-term and we will continue to share with you any updates as they come to hand.

As a club we look forward to the return of VFL footy and welcoming back all our loyal members and supporters when it is safe to do so.

In The News: Young Duo Make Their Mark

WYNDHAM STAR WEEKLY
2nd JUNE, 2021
By TARA MURRAY

Jesse Clark and Lucas Rocci both knew that Werribee Football Club was the place for them after coming out of under age football.

Two stars of the NAB League competition in 2019, both turned their attention to playing in the Victorian Football League after missing out on being drafted.

In just five games, both have already secured their spots in the Werribee line up, which has won its last three games.

After missing out on playing with the side in 2020 when the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the two believe they are starting to find their feet this season.

Clark was among the hundreds of Victorians who played in the Northern Territory last season.

He said that season helped him in getting ready for his first VFL season.

“I’ve absolutely loved it,” Clark said about being at Werribee. “Being able to join the group and meet a lot of new faces.

“I’m from Geelong and I was doing a bit of training with Geelong VFL,as well as Werribee, early last year.

“Werribee were so warm and welcoming right from the get-go, which made it a really easy decision.

“Obviously being a semi-professional environment you get to learn a lot from other players and coaches.

“It’s been a really big step up I’ve found, going from junior under-18 footy to senior footy, playing against men, but I’ve really enjoyed it.”

For Rocci, a Werribee local, joining Werribee was a no-brainer. The 2019 Morrish Medal winner is starting to look at home in the backline having not played any football for more than 18 months.
