At Local Level: Weekly Player Report - June 26

With Werribee heading into the bye after a Round 13 loss to Williamstown, it’s a good chance for fans to turn their attention to how our boys are tracking at local level.

Read how the Werribee players in action this weekend performed last round in the 12th edition of the 2025 Weekly Local Player Report.

Geelong Football Netball League:

Charlie Byrne - Newtown & Chilwell

Charlie Byrne returned for his first game in a month and was among the best for Newtown & Chilwell in a thrilling 11-point win over Colac. Playing off half-back, he collected an efficient 26 disposals, took nine marks and laid six tackles, defending well throughout and showing no signs of the ankle injury that had sidelined him.

Ben Kellett - South Barwon
Ben Kellett was influential in the ruck during South Barwon’s tight win over St Mary’s. He dominated with 38 hitouts and was strong around the ground, finishing with 11 disposals and seven tackles as he worked well to recapture his best form.

Bellarine Football Netball League:

Jack Henderson - Barwon Heads
Jack Henderson continued his strong goalkicking form of 2025 and started in red-hot fashion against Torquay, booting three of the first four goals of the game. The young key forward’s day ended early with some hamstring tightness in the third term, but he still managed 18 disposals and eight marks in a promising performance despite the heavy loss to Torquay.

Ballarat Football Netball League:

Joel Cadman - Darley

Joel Cadman continued his consistent season for ladder-leading Darley with another composed performance on the wing, earning a spot in the best in their tight eight-point win over Sunbury. He finished with 20 disposals at 80 percent efficiency, along with four marks and three clearances in his tricky role during their tight win.

Isaac Nixon - Bacchus Marsh
Isaac Nixon was dangerous again, carrying on his form in a winning effort over Redan. Nixon finished with 16 disposals and booted three goals for the second consecutive week, whilst also standing out with his aerial impact, ending with seven marks including several contested in the four-goal win.

Northern Football Netball League:

Cam Wild - Hurstbridge
Cam Wild had a breakout game for his 2025 despite Hurstbridge’s 30-point loss to Greensborough. In his second back from injury, Wild was a livewire in attack with 18 disposals, five marks, and three goals to be named in the best. When his team needed it, Wild provided a spark in the third quarter, and also showed promise with increased midfield time as he works towards his best.

Goulburn Valley Football League:

Dom Gugliotti - Mooroopna
Dom Gugliotti played one of his best games of the season in Mooroopna’s big win over Tatura. The defender had a strong offensive impact with 26 effective disposals and 13 marks. He also defended well, with his leadership and decision-making standing out as he helped guide a young backline to a dominant performance.

Victorian Amateur Football Association:

Sam Allen - Old Ivanhoe
Sam Allen continues to build his fitness after a long injury layoff. In just his second game back, he made an impact with his work rate and aerial contests in tricky conditions during Old Ivanhoe’s win over Caulfield Grammarians.


Essendon District Football League:

Reuben Rode - Greenvale
Reuben Rode was a standout despite Greenvale’s heavy loss to Strathmore. Rotating between forward and midfield, Rode finished with 23 disposals, 14 contested possessions, six clearances and five tackles, impressing with his cleanliness and strong decision-making.

Western Region Football League:

Tom Stapleton - Parkside
Tom Stapleton continued his reliable form with 16 disposals at a superb 94% efficiency in Parkside’s narrow win over Newport. The big man continues to put in the work in the backline and his defensive work and intercept marking were crucial in a strong all-round showing.

Ovens & Murray Football League:

Jedd Longmire - Corowa-Rutherglen
Jedd Longmire was a solid contributor despite Corowa-Rutherglen’s tough loss, finishing with 22 disposals at an impressive 82% efficiency. He also added 6 marks, 3 tackles, and 2 clearances, showcasing clean ball use and composure under pressure.

Ray Murphy - Corowa-Rutherglen
Ray Murphy continued to provide value around the contest in Corowa’s loss, gathering 19 disposals, 6 contested possessions, and 3 tackles. He linked up well through the middle and offered a reliable outlet moving forward.

Murray Football League:

Fergus Pinnuck - Cobram
Fergus Pinnuck started hot, and looked to continue his strong recent form, having 13 disposals and four clearances to begin the game, but unfortunately his day was cut short with a hamstring injury in the first quarter of Cobram’s win over Deniliquin.
