A Saturday night prime-time Channel 7 clash and a home Grand Final rematch headline Werribee’s final block of fixtures for the 2025 Smithy’s VFL season.

The schedule begins at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval with a home game against the third-placed Giants, before we heads to Whitten Oval on Saturday, July 12 for a marquee night matchup with the Casey Demons. The Round 16 clash will be broadcast live and free via 7mate in Victoria and nationally on 7plus Sport from 7:00 pm.

Saturday night football will feature in every round from 14 to 20, as part of a consistent run of prime-time VFL action.

Following the Channel 7 clash with Casey, Werribee faces a trip to Coburg and then hosts Richmond, before welcoming Southport in Round 20 for a second Grand Final rematch of the season, as the two standalone rivals look to produce a fifth consecutive thriller.

The home-and-away season wraps up with a Round 21 Saturday afternoon clash against the Northern Bullants at Preston City Oval on August 16 at 2:05 pm.

Wildcard Round has been retained and will be played over the weekend of August 23-24, featuring two matches – 7 v 10 and 8 v 9 – with the two winners advancing to the VFL Finals Series. The highest-ranked winner from the Wildcard Round will enter the finals as the seventh-placed team. The top six teams on the ladder will have a pre-finals bye.

The 2025 VFL Grand Final is scheduled to be played on Sunday, September 21, the weekend before the AFL Grand Final.
