Round 14 - Werribee vs Sydney (Away)

25 June 2024

Fresh from defeating Williamstown, Werribee now turns its focus interstate taking on the Swans at Tramway Oval on Sunday.

The Sunday game gives Werribee an eight-day break as Jimmy Allan’s men search for their seventh win in a row, the side’s last loss coming on Anzac Day.

The Tigers came from behind to defeat the Seagulls by 20 points and find themselves Werribee on top of the ladder for the first time this season.  Percentage separates Werribee, Southport and Footscray who are all equal on 36 points.

Sydney enter the clash 12th on the ladder, with contrasting fortunes in their last two games. They lost to GWS by 14 points in Blacktown last weekend but secured a 27-point victory over the then-league leaders, Footscray, the week before.

This marks the second consecutive year that Werribee travels to Tramway Oval. Last season, they defeated the Swans in Round 22, clinching their 15th straight win to conclude the home-and-away season before heading into the finals.

The match will be streamed, live and free, on afl.com.au and the AFL Live Official App for Werribee fans at home, with the first bounce at 12:05PM AEDT.
