At Local Level: Weekly Player Report - May 4

It was a good weekend for the club returning to the winners list with a 32-point win over Carlton plus some impressive performances from Werribee listed players in other competitions. With local footy back in full swing 14 Werribee players featured across six leagues:
Western Football Netball League:
Michael Selsby – Yarraville Seddon Eagles
Michael Selsby continued to fill the stat sheet in Yarraville’s win over Hoppers Crossing. He had 19 disposals at an impressive 84% efficiency, along with 11 contested possessions, four marks, five clearances and four inside 50s.
Sam Azzi – Yarraville Seddon Eagles
Stood up in defence in a Yarraville team which restricted Hoppers Crossing to seven goals for the match. Also had 11 disposals, four marks and three tackles.
Zac Banch – Point Cook Centrals
Was again in the best in the Sharks’ win over Point Cook. Played very well in the midfield with 23 disposals, 12 contested possessions, eight clearances and five inside 50s.
Geelong Football Netball League:
Olivier Northam – St Joseph’s
Dominated the stat sheet in a win for St Joseph’s and found himself amongst their best players. The ruckman had 30 hitouts, as well as 14 disposals, four marks, seven inside 50s and four tackles, showing his impressive work around the ground.
Emmanuel Ajang – Geelong West Giants
Continues to put up big numbers when playing for the Giants. Ajang picked up 24 disposals, kicked a goal, went inside 50 six times and took five marks.
Matthew Keast – St Mary’s (Local Player of the Week)
Dominated in a big win for St Mary’s. Keast put up huge numbers with 26 disposals at 73% efficiency, six clearances, seven tackles as well as three goals from the midfield.
Gennaro Bove – Newtown & Chilwell
Good to see the forward stringing together some games for Newtown & Chilwell after a tough year on the injury front in 2023. Gennaro battled hard in a seven goal loss to Northam’s St Joseph’s, with 12 disposals, three marks and three tackles.
Essendon District Football League:
Reuben William - Keilor
Had a very strong game off half-back in a win for Keilor. William picked up 20 disposals at a high efficiency, of 80%, which included 9 contested possessions, and kicked it inside 50 four times.
Cam McLeod – Aberfeldie
McLeod had an extremely efficient game in a tight loss to Pascoe Vale. He went at 100% with his 14 disposals, in a game where he also took intercept marks and laid three tackles.
Raymond Murphy – Greenvale
Continues to impress in the midfield with 20 disposals, consisting of 14 contested possessions, eight clearances and five tackles.
Victorian Amateuar Football Association:
Zayne Galea – Williamstown CYMS
Did well in the backline for the CYs in a tough loss to top-four side De La Selle. Picked up 12 disposals, had eight 1%ers and took three intercept grabs.
Sam Conway – University Blacks
The ruckman played a strong game around the ground in his first appearance for Uni Blacks for the season. While strong in the ruck, he also gathered 14 disposals, including 12 contested, five clearances, three marks and three tackles.
Ballarat Football Netball League
Joel Cadman – Darley
The new recruit continues his strong start to the season for Darley. Joel kicked two goals, found the ball 17 disposals, where he went at 82% efficiency, and took six marks.
Bellarine Football Netball League:
Ed McCoy - Torquay Tigers
Was good in Torquay's win over Modewarre. Had 11 disposals along with his 19 hitouts, and had two clearances and three tackles.
