Werribee Faces Williamstown In First Practice Match
21 February 2024
Werribee will contest its first practice match of the preseason this Friday night with the team set to take on Williamstown on neutral territory.
In what marks the team's first opportunity to impress new head coach Jimmy Allan against opposition in 2024, a mix of youth and experience will hit the deck, with north of thirty players being named to take part in the six-period hit-out.
The match will take place under the lights at Deakin University in Geelong. First bounce will be at 7:00PM and marks the first of four practice matches leading up to the opening round of the 2024 Smithy's VFL season.
Head coach Jimmy Allan is eagerly anticipating the face-off; "[We're] looking forward to practice matches starting; it's what we're here for. I know the boys are really excited to get down to Deakin this Friday night."
“We've trained exceptionally well, and we're looking forward to translating our hard work into practice and gaining valuable match experience”.
