Round 1: Werribee at Frankston

Werribe's 2022 VFL campaign gets undereway on Saturday night with a trip to Franktson to play the Dolphins in the inaugural contest for the SkyBus Cup, a sponsor of both clubs.
It will be the first match between the two sides since July 27, 2019. On that occasison Werribee celebrated a 50-point home win at Avalon Airport Oval.
The Big W enters Round 1 on the back of four practice match victories in the proceeding four weeks with the team primed to hit ground running.
Tom Gribble will lead the side for the first time since being named co-captain with Dom Brew who is out of the season opener, and there'll be new faces aplenty with eight players set to pull on the Werribee jumper for the first time.
The list of debutants is Ollie Hanrahan (Player No.927), Reuben WIlliam (928), Charlie Ham (929), Tom McCaffrey (930), Sam Paea (931), Saad El-Hawli (932), Marty Brennan (933) and Jack Driscoll (934).
Vice-captain Nick Coughlan, former skipper Michael Sodomaco and Joe Maishman are the key players unavailable for selection with all three not far from a return to full fitness. See the full Round 1 side below.
