Jack Riding and Megan Morabito Recognised In Corked Awards
19 August 2026
Werribee Football Club is pleased to announce Jack Riding and Megan Morabito as the latest recipients of the Corked Player of the Month and Corked Volunteer of the Month awards for the 2026 season.
Presented monthly throughout the year, the awards recognise outstanding contributions both on and off the field, with each recipient receiving a voucher to enjoy at Corked Wine Bar on Watton Street, which joined the club as a partner ahead of the 2026 season.
Riding claims the Player of the Month award following an outstanding four-match stretch across Rounds 17 to 21, playing a pivotal role as Werribee closed out the home-and-away season with a 13-4-1 record to secure second spot on the ladder and a home final.
Across the four matches, Werribee recorded home wins over Port Melbourne, Footscray and Sandringham, with its only defeat coming by 12 points on the road against Tasmania.
Playing predominantly as a high half-forward, Riding ranked second at the club for disposals across the month and led Werribee for score involvements, score assists and ranking points. He also ranked second for inside 50s, third for tackles, sixth for clearances and seventh for marks, while booting six goals.
His influence helped Werribee average more than 111 points per game across the four-match stretch.
Riding sewed up the Player of the Month award with a dominant performance in Saturday’s 59-point win over Sandringham in Werribee’s final home-and-away game of the season.
He collected a team-high 27 disposals to go with nine marks and nine score involvements, while also producing a career-best five-goal haul. Three of those majors came in succession during the second quarter as Werribee turned an 11-point quarter-time advantage into a 30-point lead at the main break.
A week earlier against Tasmania, Riding again led Werribee for disposals with 22 while also recording a team-high eight tackles in a strong all-round performance.
That followed an outstanding display against Footscray in Round 19, where he equalled his career-high with a team-high 36 disposals as Werribee secured second spot on the ladder with two rounds remaining. His performance also included 13 contested possessions, seven score involvements and three direct goal assists.
The Corked Player of the Month honour caps off an impressive home-and-away season for the 2024 premiership player, who also celebrated his 50th game for Werribee earlier in the year.
Off the field, Megan Morabito has been recognised for her contribution during her placement with the club while completing the final year of her degree at Deakin University.
Working closely with Operations Coordinator Sam Wharton and Operations Support Officer Callum Buckingham, Megan has gained valuable hands-on experience across a range of areas within the club’s operations.
Attending the club once or twice each week throughout her placement, Megan has assisted with membership and sponsorship operations, while over the past month she has played a significant role in preparing the club’s annual online auction ahead of its launch.
Megan has also become a regular part of Werribee’s home match days, assisting in both the function room and merchandise shop with Lorraine Joiner.
Werribee congratulates both Jack and Megan on their recognition and thanks Corked Wine Bar for its continued support of the initiative throughout 2026.
