The final round of the 2026 Smithy’s VFL home-and-away season will see Werribee host Sandringham at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday.

Starting at 2:05pm, the Round 21 clash will bring the home-and-away campaign to a close for both sides, with Werribee looking to enter the finals with some winning momentum.

Werribee heads into the final round with second place on the VFL ladder already secured and will be looking to bounce back after its nine-game winning streak came to an end against Tasmania in Hobart last weekend.

The loss moved Werribee's record to 12-4-1 after 20 rounds, with the side enjoying an impressive record at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval throughout the season.

Werribee has lost just once at home in 2026, with that defeat coming all the way back in Round 3 against Geelong in the first week of April.

Sandringham, in its first season as a standalone club since 1999 following the end of its affiliation with St Kilda, enters the final round sitting 20th on the ladder with a 4-12-1 record.

The Zebras are without a win from their past six matches, a run which includes a draw against Southport in Round 17. Their most recent outing was a 51-point home loss in Round 19.

Saturday will mark the second meeting between Werribee and Sandringham this season after the Zebras came out on top in Round 2 at Trevor Barker Beach Oval.

Werribee led by 34 points at half time in that contest before being held goalless after the main break, as Sandringham completed the comeback to record a 17-point victory and its first win as a standalone VFL side in 27 years.

Werribee's final home game of the home-and-away season will also see the club celebrating Members Appreciation Day at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval.
