Werribee ran away with a 38-point victory at home against Port Melbourne, as a dominant five goals to nil second quarter set up the win.

Werribee's terrific form has continued with the 16.13 (109) to 10.11 (71) victory over Port Melbourne, making it eight wins in a row for the Tigers. Werribee's season ledger now moves to 11-3-1 and solidifies second spot on the ladder with four rounds remaining.

Ajang Kuol Mun dominated in the ruck, amassing an incredible 52 hitouts and eight tackles, along with a match-high 12 clearances from his 17 disposals.

Up forward, the duo of Jay Dahlhaus and Anthony Depasquale proved a handful for the Port Melbourne defence, with Dahlhaus kicking a match-high five goals from 12 disposals, while Depasquale booted four of his own from 11 touches.

In the engine room, Dom Brew provided his usual physicality around the contest, laying nine tackles and collecting four clearances from a team-high 23 disposals.

Depasquale gave the Tigers the perfect start, hitting the scoreboard with a 30-metre set shot.

Jack Riding looped the footy over the top to find Jay Dahlhaus on the lead, who went back and drilled it straight over the goal umpire's hat.

Making it three goals for the quarter, Will Elliott was awarded a free kick 40 metres out on a slight angle and continued Werribee's accurate set shot kicking.

Xavier Ivisic linked up with Riding in the forward pocket before curling through an absolute ripping left foot snap.

At quarter time, Werribee held a narrow one-point lead over Port Melbourne after an entertaining opening term saw both sides kick four goals.

Charlie Lazzaro began the second quarter by drilling through another set shot from a tight angle 45 metres out.

Elliott's quick hands found Lachie Charleson, who ran around his opponent before sneaking home Werribee's third major in a row.

Brady Wright hit Dahlhaus lace out in the forward pocket, with the small forward continuing Werribee's onslaught by kicking his second goal of the day.

Charleson crumbed the footy brilliantly from a stoppage, bursting through the pack before getting boot to ball for his second goal.

Elliott then took to the skies with a sensational pack mark before finishing the play by splitting the middle for his second major.

The second quarter belonged to the Tigers as they stifled Port Melbourne's ball movement, restricting the visitors to just three behinds while piling on five goals of their own to take a 32-point lead into the main break.

After a slow start to the third quarter, it was Daly Andrews who took control, running down the wing, taking three bounces and delivering perfectly to the chest of Dahlhaus, who continued his stellar afternoon with his third goal.

Moments later, Andrews split the game open again with another run down the wing, this time finding Depasquale at the top of the goal square as Werribee pushed the margin back out to 30 points.

Depasquale used terrific body work to create space on the lead before Dahlhaus hit him up in the pocket, with the small forward converting his third goal to continue his outstanding match.

Neither side was able to gain the upper hand for the remainder of the quarter as the teams traded goals, with Werribee taking a 26-point lead into the final term.

Depasquale showed some fancy footwork through traffic before finding Charleson inside 50, who gave Werribee the perfect start to the final quarter by booting his third goal.

After Port Melbourne kicked two goals in a row to briefly threaten, Dahlhaus stood up once again, booting goals four and five to put the result beyond doubt.

If Dahlhaus didn't get you, Depasquale did, with the lively forward kicking his fourth goal in the final minute to cap off a terrific team performance as Werribee ran out 38-point winners.

Werribee will now head into the bye before turning its attention to a home clash against the Footscray Bulldogs at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday, August 1 at 12:05 pm.
