Krista Woodroffe Strengthens Werribee’s Community Team
15 May 2025

Werribee’s community program has gone from strength to strength this 2025 season with the addition of Krista Woodroffe to the administration team in an expanded role.
Krista, who joins as Community Coordinator, brings a wealth of experience across multiple levels of the game. A former VFLW player with Geelong and current coach at Geelong Grammar School, Krista previously worked in a casual role with North Melbourne as a Schools Female Participation Officer, an opportunity that first connected her with Werribee and kick-started her career in football administration.
She later became the AFL Goldfields region’s first female Football Manager, and has also held roles with the AFL as Female Talent Coordinator and Games Development Officer.
Krista’s appointment has been instrumental in bringing Werribee’s partnership with North Melbourne to life. The three-year agreement has seen North Melbourne’s VFLW side rebranded as the North Melbourne Werribee Kangaroos, playing up to four games per season at Avalon Airport Oval, with two games already confirmed for 2025.
Werribee will also increase its involvement in delivering North Melbourne’s Next Generation Academy program in Wyndham, identifying and developing talented young multicultural and Indigenous footballers, a collaboration that first began in 2023.
Speaking on the new partnership, Krista said, “It’s incredibly exciting for WFC to formalise this partnership with the NMFC VFLW and Next Generation Academy programs. This collaboration opens up a clear and inspiring pathway for aspiring male and female footballers in Wyndham to reach the highest levels of the game."
She added, "It perfectly complements our existing VFL team and the strong community programs we’re so proud to manage. It’s a real step forward for WFC and the future of football in our region."
While the North Melbourne partnership has been a major part of her role, Krista has also assisted Shaggy across all aspects of the club’s community programs, from planning and administration to on-the-ground delivery.
General Manager of Business Operations Justin Abrams said; “Krista’s extended appointment to the WFC Community team has been a great decision. Krista has actively had a huge influence with the North Melbourne relationship and involved with the AFLW and Next Gen Academy. Krista plays a pivotal role with the implementation and delivery of all WFC Community and school activity within the Wyndham region.”
Abrams added that Krista has been a huge support to Community Manager Majok and that the community team plays a vital role in strengthening Werribee’s connection both on and off the field within the local community.
Majok, who returned to the club as Community Manager in 2023, oversaw a record-breaking year in 2024, reaching 7,622 participants, including over 5,500 school students across the club’s community programs.
Speaking on Krista’s impact, Ngong said: “Having Krista come on board has been a great addition. She’s brought a fresh perspective, new ideas, and, importantly, a wealth of experience as we continue to show why we have the best community program in the VFL.”

Following our recent 2024 VFL Premiership success, the Werribee Football Club is excited to announce that our full suite of membership packages are now available for 2025.
