2025 Smithy’s VFL Fixture Released

The Werribee Football Club will play nine home games at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval in 2025 as revealed in today’s Smithy's VFL fixture release.

The competition commences on the weekend of March 21-23 and Werribee begin by travelling north to face off with Southport in a Grand Final rematch on Saturday 22nd of March.

Werribee will unfurl the premiership flag at our first home game in Round 3 against Footscray on Saturday 5th of April, at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval.

The side complete their interstate travel for the season in Round 4, with a trip to Sydney’s Blacktown International Sportspark before returning home for back-to-back-to-back games at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval, including an ANZAC Day primetime matchup against Williamstown.

All seven VFL standalone clubs (Coburg, Frankston, Port Melbourne, Northern Bullants, Southport Sharks, Werribee, and Williamstown) will play each other throughout the season. Werribee drawn to play Williamstown and Southport twice.

There is a competition bye scheduled for the SANFL v VFL representative match during the AFL Gather Round in Adelaide across the weekend of April 11-13.

Wildcard Round has been retained and will be played over the weekend of August 23-24 featuring two matches – 7 v 10 and 8 v 9 – with the two winners advancing to the VFL Finals Series The highest-ranked winner from the Wildcard Round will enter the finals as the seventh-placed team. The top-six teams on the ladder will have a pre-finals bye.

The 2025 VFL Grand Final scheduled to be played on Sunday, September 21, the weekend before the AFL Grand Final.
