Mark Noble and Baxter Norton will not play for Werribee in the restructured 2020 VFL season after opting to return to their respective home states for the remainder of the year.
Noble crossed from South Australia to Avalon Airport Oval in the off-season, but has made the decision to return to Adelaide to be close to his partner and family.
Football Operations Manager Stuart Balloch said, “It has been a tough time for Mark since moving to Melbourne, with his family impacted by the South Australian bushfires and now the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to wish Mark all the best for the remainder of 2020 and hope to see him again in 2021”.
A transfer has been approved for the speedy wingman to play for his previous club South Adelaide when the SANFL kicks off on the weekend.
Twenty-one-year-old Norton who played five games in his debut year after making the move from the Apple Isle, will also not return to the club this year.
“Baxter informed the club that he will be remaining in Hobart for the rest of 2020 given his family and support is in Tasmania. We want to wish him all the very best for the remainder of the year and also look forward to seeing him back next year,” Balloch said.
The smooth-moving left-footer will return to his local club North Hobart and line-up alongside his brother Gus when the TSL kicks off in mid-July.
