Werribee returned from the bye in style with a 31-point win over Collingwood at VFL level on Saturday, while it was just as big a weekend at local level for a number of Werribee-listed players around the state.

Massive stat lines continued to pile up across multiple leagues, while a pair of Werribee young guns also earned interleague selection following outstanding starts to their 2026 campaigns.

Bellarine Football Netball League:

Luke Preece - Drysdale
After an injury-affected pre-season delayed his start to 2026, Preece made a stunning return in Drysdale’s thrilling two-point win over Modewarre. Playing restricted minutes in his first game of the season, the defender still dominated with 27 disposals, eight marks and a staggering 14 intercept possessions, while also driving the ball out of defence with 15 rebound 50s. Preece used the ball brilliantly at 81% efficiency and showed his usual leadership and composure behind the ball in an outstanding return to local football.

Tom Webster - Newcomb
Webster produced another dominant performance in defence as Newcomb recorded an 83-point win over the Bellarine Football Netball League’s newest side, Surf Coast Suns. Named in the best players, the key defender gathered 29 disposals and 11 marks, including six intercept grabs, while also finishing with 14 intercept possessions and nine score involvements. Webster’s ability to both defend strongly and generate offence from half back again stood out in another complete display.

Riddell District Football Netball League:

Nash King - Wallan
King continued his outstanding season with a monster performance in Wallan’s 95-point win over Gisborne Giants. Named in the best players, the midfielder stuffed the stat sheet with 39 disposals, 12 marks, nine inside 50s and three goals, while also adding 13 score involvements and two goal assists. His work rate around the ground, clean ball use on both sides of the body and ability to impact both offensively and defensively were all major highlights in another dominant display.

Geelong Football Netball League:

Micah Robb - Colac
Robb continued his outstanding run of form in Colac’s 156-point demolition of North Shore, earning best-on-ground honours for the second consecutive week. Rotating between midfield and forward, Robb collected 33 disposals at an elite 91% efficiency, while also adding six clearances, six tackles, a goal and a staggering 15 score involvements. His balance between attack and defensive work again stood out strongly as he continued to dominate at local level.

Jack Mullen - St Joseph’s
Returning after a week off following a pre-season injury, Mullen impressed in just his second game of the season as St Joseph’s recorded a 68-point win over Bell Park. The forward gathered 16 disposals, 10 contested possessions, six marks and a goal, while also finishing with five score involvements. Mullen competed strongly in the air and looked far more settled as he continued building continuity back at local level.

Interleague Football:

Archie Taylor - Hampden Football Netball League Under 23s
After an outstanding start to his senior football career with Cobden, Taylor earned selection in the Hampden Football Netball League Under 23 interleague side for their clash against Ballarat in Warrnambool. The young midfielder continued his strong form against quality opposition, collecting 21 disposals, four inside 50s and a goal in Hampden’s nine-point win. Taylor’s selection came after being named among Cobden’s best players in all six senior games to begin his 2026 season.

Foster Gardiner - Ovens & Murray Football Netball League
Gardiner represented the Ovens & Murray Football Netball League in its senior interleague clash against Bendigo at Queen Elizabeth Oval on Saturday. Playing a mixture of forward and lock down defender in each half, Gardiner battled strongly against quality opposition and finished with seven disposals, two marks, two rebound 50s and two inside 50s. The defender used the ball at 71% efficiency in the 20-point loss.

Western Football Netball League:

Rani Pavlidis - Werribee Districts
Pavlidis continued his strong form in Werribee Districts’ 51-point win over Spotswood, producing another composed display as a small forward. The youngster gathered 17 disposals and laid five tackles, with four inside 50 tackles standing out strongly in an excellent defensive performance. Pavlidis again showed his composure in tight spaces and ability to connect with teammates by hand around contests, while also continuing to improve his work rate and coverage around the ground.

Wil Kliszewski - Yarraville Seddon
Kliszewski played an important role in Yarraville Seddon’s 41-point win over Newport, impacting strongly both in the air and around stoppages. The key forward finished with 14 disposals, seven marks, including four contested grabs, and 13 hitouts while continuing to provide a strong aerial target. Kliszewski’s ability to compete and bring the ball to ground remained a feature throughout the afternoon.

Victorian Amateur Football Association:

Mitch Lloyd - University Blues
Lloyd played an important role across half back in University Blues’ thrilling one-point win over Old Haileybury. The defender collected 17 disposals, eight marks and six tackles, while also intercepting strongly to finish with seven intercept possessions. Lloyd’s ability to read the ball in flight and impact aerial contests continued to stand out, while his preparation and attitude remained first class.

Harrison Miller - Williamstown CYMS
Miller battled hard despite Williamstown CYMS suffering a 30-point loss to Old Melburnians. The forward finished with seven disposals, six contested possessions and two tackles, continuing to compete strongly throughout the afternoon. While unable to consistently impact the scoreboard, Miller’s effort and intent remained strong across the four quarters.
