The Werribee Football Club is proud to celebrate a significant milestone in 2026, with Corio Waste Management entering its 25th consecutive year as a partner of the club.

One of the club’s longest-standing and most valued supporters, Corio Waste Management has been a constant presence at Werribee across more than two decades, with the partnership continuing to go from strength to strength.

An Australian-owned, family-run business, Corio Waste Management provides waste management services across Greater Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and the Surf Coast. Founded in 1996 by Ken Dickens with just one truck and one bin, the company has grown into a thriving operation with more than 30 trucks and over 70 employees.

In 2026, Corio Waste Management also celebrates 30 years as a business, marking a major milestone for the Dickens family and their continued contribution to the wider community.

Their support of the club continues to grow, with Corio Waste Management again playing a key role as one of three Academy sponsors in 2026, alongside Kieser Werribee and ACW - A Cleaner World.

The WFC Academy marked an exciting new chapter in the club’s commitment to youth development, providing a standalone program designed to support the next generation of footballers from across the City of Wyndham.

The program targeted boys and girls aged 11–13 who were selected in Western Football Netball League Under 13 and Under 14 interleague squads. More than 70 participants attended the opening talent identification session at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval before the final 50 athletes were invited to take part in the program.

Across six sessions throughout the year, participants focused on fundamental skill development, game sense and personal growth, while receiving coaching support from Werribee’s community team alongside VFL players and staff.

Several of Werribee’s VFL players played a hands-on role throughout the program, assisting with football drills and mentoring the group across the sessions, while 2025 senior coach Jimmy Allan also delivered a leadership presentation during the academy.

Following a successful inaugural year, the WFC Academy continues to build opportunities for young footballers across the Wyndham region, with the support of partners like Corio Waste Management playing a key role in its ongoing growth.
