Fresh from returning to Australia after a five-month stint working in Japan, Daly Andrews has re-signed with the Werribee Football Club for the 2026 VFL season.

With just 10 days to go until the start of the 2026 season, Andrews will enter his fourth year at the club and will look to pick up where he left off following an outstanding finish to the 2025 campaign.

In his fifth season in the VFL, and sixth year of state league football, Andrews’ 2025 campaign began in Round 12 after an injury-interrupted start to the year.

In his season debut, which came 315 days after his previous appearance for Werribee, Andrews ran out against Geelong and collected 21 disposals and eight tackles, his highest disposal tally since Round 11 of the premiership campaign the year prior.

The midfielder built strongly from there, playing the remainder of the season and averaging 22.1 disposals, 5.3 tackles and 5.3 clearances across the final eight games, career-high numbers in all three categories.

His ability at the level was on full display as, despite only playing the final eight matches of the season, Andrews finished the year with the equal most three-vote performances in the J.J. Liston Trophy of any Werribee player, alongside Dom Brew. His standout outing came against Coburg in Round 17 where he gathered 34 disposals and a goal to earn three votes and Werribee’s Totally Workwear Hoppers Crossing Player of the Round, before finishing the season strongly with another 29 disposals and eight clearances in the final game of the year.

A Western Jets product, Andrews joined Werribee ahead of the 2024 season after three years with westside rivals Williamstown.

Reflecting on the move at the time, Andrews described the transition as “pretty seamless,” saying, “I grew up in Werribee; it’s always been home and has always been in the back of my mind.”

Now entering his fourth season at Werribee, Andrews has developed into one of the club’s most experienced players at state league level and will head into the 2026 campaign with 61 VFL games to his name.
