A message from the Western Region Football League to the Werribee Tigers as the WRFL season concludes.
"The Western Region Football League would like to take this opportunity to thank the Werribee Football Club for its support in season 2015.
The Werribee Football Club and its team of hard working staff have been a long-time supporter of the WRFL for many years.
CEO Mark Penaluna’s time at the WRFL prior to his position at Werribee gave him a solid insight into the WRFL’s operations and importance as a community football body in the west, particularly with its huge junior involvement.
In recent years, Werribee Football Club has focussed its support of the WRFL through taking the naming rights of the league’s Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18 competitions introducing the Werribee Tigers Premiership Cup.
The Werribee Football Club, which participates in the state’s premier league, the VFL, has always been involved in community football, running multicultural programs, making its first-class oval and facilities available for schools and junior clubs as well as community groups.
On Sunday August 30, Werribee FC will be holding its annual Multicultural Day when the Tigers play Footscray in the Channel 7 televised VFL match at Werribee’s Avalon Airport Oval (Chirnside Park). The day will be a celebration of diversity in the west through cultural performances, food stalls, arts and crafts, exhibition matches and plenty of activities for kids."
