Round 18 team: Coburg vs Werribee

Werribee will provide a VFL opportunity for another talented TAC Cup player this weekend, having named versatile Murray Bushrangers tall Jordon Butts to make his debut against Coburg on Saturday.

The 18-year-old Shepparton product replaces Calder Cannons utility Jake Riccardi as Werribee’s 23rd player and like his fellow TAC Cup top-ager has shown the ability to hold down key positions at both ends of the ground.

Butts will likely have a captive audience to witness his first VFL game, with the match expected to draw a significant
crowd and strong television ratings due to the proposed AFL rule changes being trialled.

The addition of Butts is among at least three changes to the Werribee lineup for the hotly anticipated clash with the Lions, with midfielder Ben Moloney (injured) and Fabian Brancatisano (omitted) both set to miss.

Louis Pinnuck is in the frame to return from injury for his first game since round seven after being added to the 27-man squad along with Harry Boyd and Key Declase, while Ethan Petterwood, Joel Bennett, and Jade Cleeland remain in the mix for a recall after retaining their places on the extended bench.

The match kicks off at 2:10pm at Piranha Park in Coburg and will be broadcast live and free on Channel 7 from 2pm.
