Jack Fitzpatrick

Ruck coach / midfield assistant

Jack moved into the ruck and assistant midfield coaching positions ahead of the 2019 season, having joined Werribee in 2018 as a ruck assistant.

A Wyndham local, Jack played his junior football with Wyndhamvale and the Western Jets before being taken by Melbourne in the 2009 AFL Draft. He went on to play 22 games with the Demons and a further four with Hawthorn across eight seasons.

Despite ongoing challenges with illness and injury that ultimately brought a premature end to his playing career, Jack showed himself to be a damaging ruckman and key forward at the AFL level at his best. This was perhaps best demonstrated by his now famous late match-turning goal on debut for the Hawthorn in the final round of the 2016 season, which helped secure a one-point victory to see the Hawks into the finals.
