My name is Martin Carter and I reside in Werribee, having lived here for 28 years.
I was originally an inner suburban boy having moved from Northcote post my studies, marriage and the beginning of my working life.
I have been involved as a Board Member for approximately 13 years spanning from 1992 to current times. I was a past President of the Werribee Sports Club and also served on other sporting boards in an executive capacity. My current portfolio is Strategic Planning and am intimately involved in our prime revenue source, The Tigers Clubhouse.
My working career post a commerce degree has been in banking, finance and fleet with senior roles at Citibank, ORIX, Toyota, Manheim, Thrifty WA and most recently Morris Finance. At Citibank l was responsible for the launch of the first revolving line of credit, Mortgage Power and at Thrifty as CEO l led the company through a period of record growth and profitability post the GFC.
On the football front our mission statement, "to enhance the reputation of our community by developing excellence in people through sport" was developed as part of my portfolio's responsibility. Finally, l am passionate about the Werribee Football Club and am determined to see us have sustainable success both on and off the field.
